CARAMEL APPLE TOPPED ENGLISH MUFFIN

Ingredients
- 1 package BAYS® English Muffin, split, toasted and buttered
- 3-4 apples, cored and thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp. butter
- CARAMEL SAUCE
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 tbsp. lemon juice
- 2 tbsp. butter
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 3/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
Instructions
- 1. In a warm skillet, cook and stir the apples in butter until soft. Remove and keep warm.
- 2. In the same skillet, combine the sugar, water, and lemon juice. Bring to a boil; cook until amber colored. Add the butter, heat until melted. Remove from the heat; add the cinnamon and cream. Toss with apples.
- 3. Top the cut side of each muffin with apples and caramel sauce; sprinkle with nuts.
