Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 small tart apple, peeled, cored and chopped
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1 can (16 ounces) sauerkraut, rinsed and drained
  • 2 teaspoons caraway seeds
  • 1/4 cup spicy brown mustard
  • 6 BAYS® English Muffins, split and toasted
  • 1 pound bratwurst, cooked and sliced into rounds
  • 1/2 pound Swiss cheese, thinly sliced
  • paprika, if desired

Instructions

  • In a small saucepan, melt butter. Lightly sauté apples and onion. Stir in sauerkraut and caraway seeds. Heat through. Spread mustard on muffins. Top with bratwurst slices. Divide sauerkraut mixture evenly over bratwurst. Top each with Swiss cheese. Place under broiler and heat until cheese melts. Sprinkle with paprika, if desired.
