Easy Blender Pesto Recipe

1 cup fresh basil leaves loosely packed
1 clove garlic peeled
1/2 Teaspoon salt
1/3 cup walnut halves
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 cup olive oil
1 Tablespoon butter


Add all ingredients except 1/2 of oil to a blender. Blend on low for 15 seconds; add the remaining oil in a thin stream (15-30 seconds more). Sauce should not be blended for more than 45 seconds total. Yield: one cup. A few parsley leaves can be added along with basil to deepen the color if desired.
